This standard addresses acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured, and soldered interconnections. IPC-A-620 also tackles the corresponding lacing and restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies. The specification covers: cable and wire dimensioning; tolerances and preparation for insulation displacement connections; co-ax and twin-ax assembly; securing by lacing/shielding; and ultrasonic welding and soldered terminations.
