With LabVIEW we can test real world signals and analyze data for meaningful information, rapidly and at minimal cost.

Still there are a lot of alternatives to these approaches and in some applications we use a computer based control engine, which is known as a soft PLC. For instance, data logging and analysis can be achieved using Think & Do, a direct to excel spreadsheet data acquisition software environment.

All of these approaches can be combined with other appropriate technologies to provide a sophisticated control and monitoring system.
