Horsham, PA, October 23, 2013—EFE Laboratories, Philadelphia’s oldest contract manufacturer and OEM of electromechanical software and engineering solutions for communications, industrial controls, aerospace, and medical device industries, announced that the company has been ranked #49 on the Philadelphia 100® list of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the region. This is the second year in a row that EFE has made the list.
Since making the Philly 100 list for the first time last year, EFE has strengthened its leadership as an advocate for the manufacturing industry in the state of Pennsylvania. Last year, EFE was one of two manufacturers recognized on the Philly 100 list. This year, 11 manufacturing companies are on the list, which is a milestone for the industry indicating that the Philadelphia region is on track for a manufacturing renaissance.
“EFE is honored to have made the Philadelphia 100 list again this year,” says Kip Anthony, President and CEO of EFE Laboratories. “We are proud of the advanced, innovative work that we do for our customers, the incredible talent that we employ, and we look forward to continuing to establish and solidify the new manufacturing renaissance in the region.”
Pennsylvania’s manufacturing industry employs more than 15,000 people and is a vital piece of the state’s economy, with more than 1,000 sector jobs created in 2012. EFE has become a champion for manufacturing in the region by taking leadership positions in many industry organizations that aspire to support manufacturing job creation and opportunity. These organizations include Co-Founder Bridge, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, The DVIRC’s Manufacturer Council, The Mainline Chamber Government Affairs Committee, the State Chamber Education Committee, and the SEPA Manufacturers PAC.
“As a result of the Philadelphia 100 award, we have been afforded many opportunities,” says Anthony. “In addition to receiving an influx of inbound project and sales leads once the list was published last year, simply networking with fellow award recipients has forged invaluable relationships which have blossomed into a group of trusted advisors capable of generating paradigm-shifting concepts pertaining to our business model.”
EFE Laboratories offers build-to-suit capital equipment such as box builds, control panels and cable harnesses. EFE relies on cutting-edge skills and industry-leading expertise to meet the ever-changing electrical and electromechanical assembly challenges of its clients. Additional capabilities include programming, design engineering, and providing operations support to startups and growing manufacturing enterprises such as Haliburon, Ingersoll Rand and General Electric.
The Philadelphia100® is sponsored by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum of Greater Philadelphia, Philadelphia Business Journal and the Wharton Small Business Development Center, which conduct a yearly research project searching for the top businesses that form the backbone of the region’s economy. The Philadelphia100® is based on demonstrable revenue growth documented by federal tax forms or audited financial statements. The purpose of this award is to bring together the region’s top companies in an effort to provide education, leadership, growth and networking opportunities.
Rankings were announced at the 25th annual awards ceremony, held Wednesday, October 16th, 2013, at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
