Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Panel Builds/Box Builds – Looking for a candidate that enjoys the challenge of being exposed to many different types of electro-mechanical assemblies including control panels, industrial enclosure builds, and small box wired assemblies. Candidate is a motivated self-starter who can think outside the box.

Preferred Skill Set:

  • Solid skills in all aspects of wiring, crimping, wire harnessing, and layout of multi-component systems.
  • Experience with PC Board assembly
  • Knowledge and proficiency with hand tools (crimpers/strippers etc.)
  • Hand soldering skills for small PCB based assemblies.
  • Ability to understand basic schematics and assembly documentation including blueprints, drawings, bills of material, work order travelers, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of effective use of measurement tools (calipers, scales, rulers).
  • Understand basic ESD (electro-static discharge) handling requirements.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment to get projects accomplished.
  • Experience from automotive/aerospace/medical device industries in the manufacture of mechanical assemblies is a plus.
  • Experience with basic machining equipment is a plus.’
  • IPC 610/620/JSTD or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  • Understanding of ISO/AS9100 processes and the development of work instructions in a Lean Manufacturing context is desirable.

Manager of Quality Control

Dedicated quality champion with focus on process and inspection, training, testing, vendor auditing and industry standards within an ISO and AS9100D environment. Possesses a vision and a plan to achieve customer expectations, adhere to customer requirements, standards and best practices through all processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key ownership for the organization’s ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certifications
  • Must have experience or a background in electronics
  • Ensures alignment with customer requirements
  • Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees
  • Coordinates in-house test activities to meet schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives
  • Interprets and executes testing procedures per customer requirements
  • Ensures test and data are accurately and clearly recorded
  • Inspects incoming material, work-in-process products, and finished products for conformance to drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Resolves, with engineering support, operational issues that may compromise achievement of schedule, cost, quality or safety objectives
  • Tracks and records labor hours and materials consumed in the execution of work orders & tests
  • Routinely inspects tools, fixtures, test equipment, and work pieces for quality and serviceability
  • Analyzes and resolves test problems; assists workers in solving assembly problems
  • Supports compliance with employee training requirements and maintain employee training files
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality control budget with analysis of variances

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Quality Team with some indirect responsibility for Production Team

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a test and quality environment with leadership responsibilities
  • Proficient in using basic measuring equipment such as height gauges, surface plates, indicators, calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to lead a team to make logical, sound decisions and leverage root cause analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, employees and executive management
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft applications. Access and Visual Enterprise database knowledge a plus
  • Experience in an electro-mechanical production environment highly preferred

Buyer/Planner

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work closely with Production Planners, Product Management and Production Supervisors to understand current business need and production status.
  • Derive demands for assigned materials based on the master production schedule, current inventory positions and outstanding purchase orders, and generates a procurement plan optimized for schedule, cost and inventory position.
  • Release Purchase Orders to Suppliers based on derived demands, purchasing criteria and management input.
  • Recommend material or procurement strategies that benefit the company in cost, schedule or quality.
  • Ensure timely and accurate transactions of all material receipts on an MRP/ERP II or equivalent system.
  • Manifest understanding and commitment to the strategic vision
  • Support the EFE material planning & buying needs, quoting and sourcing new suppliers
  • Improve utilization of Visual MFG (ERP)
  • Improve inventory turns in coordination with objectives established on an annual basis
  • Work to establish solid metrics in support of Class A Operations (Operational Excellence)
  • Ability to analyze and resolve schedule problems with associated suppliers, production planners, management or other.
  • Proactively communicate and negotiate with vendors to maintain supply chain continuity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervision. May be assigned “lead person” responsibilities for other buyer / planners, including task assignments.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 4-year college degree in business, engineering or management, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years’ experience in an MRP/ERP II, Kanban, or equivalent purchasing environment.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, inventory management practices.
  • Must be fluent in a Microsoft Office.
  • Kanban training and experience are highly desired.
  • ISO-9000, Six-Sigma or similar program is a plus.
  • Experience in a technical production environment is highly desirable.
  • Visual Enterprise knowledge is a plus
