Materials Manager

The Materials Manager is responsible for the overall availability of purchased materials per planned or forecasted production use or internal consumption, within established schedule, inventory value, and quality guidelines. Responsibility starts at PO and continues through to Warehouse and successfully kitted and distributed to the floor and then out the door to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assign or provide work direction for Buyer / Planner to ensure material availability for current demands.
  • Negotiate price and quality contracts with new or existing vendors.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to foster existing vendor relationships and develop new vendor relationships.
  • Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing on latest industry trends.
  • Provide feedback to Production and Inventory Control regarding availability and status of current requirements.
  • Work closely with Production Planners, Product Management and Production Supervisors to understand current business need and production status.
  • Derive demands for purchased materials based on the master production schedule, current inventory positions and outstanding purchase orders, and generate a procurement plan optimized for schedule, cost and inventory position.
  • Release Purchase Orders to vendors based on derived demands, purchasing criteria and management input.
  • Recommend material or procurement strategies that benefit the company in cost, schedule or quality.
  • Ensure timely and accurate transactions of all material receipts on an MRP II or equivalent system.
  • Participate in review of discrepant material and coordinates supplier involvement as required.
  • Improve inventory turns in coordination with objectives established on an annual basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA degree in related major or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5- 7 years’ experience in an MRP II, Kanban or equivalent purchasing environment.
  • Knowledge of Electronics & Contract Mfg. environment is desired.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in inventory management practices.
  • Must be fluent in a Microsoft Office environment, excel use at an advanced level
  • Association with a professional purchasing organization is highly desired.
  • MRP II training and experience are highly desired.
  • Kanban training and experience are highly desired.
  • Quality training in a Kaizen, ISO-9000, AS9100, Six-Sigma or similar program is highly desirable.
  • Experience within a highly technical production environment is highly desirable.
  • APICS training or certification is desirable.

Manager of Engineering

Manager of Engineering

SUMMARY
The manager of manufacturing engineering position oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency; ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively and is responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process; leads and directs the work of assigned manufacturing engineers and project engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel.
  • Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of space.
  • Work closely with research and development contacts, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.
  • Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are always implemented and maintained.
  • Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies.
  • Support all current and new product introductions.
  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications.
  • Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing product specifications are developed, and testing procedures are in place before starting up vendors/subcontractors.
  • Able to assist in reducing cost through re-engineering product/material.
  • Assist in the assessment of vendor/subcontractor evaluation for consideration.
  • Responsible for training vendors/subcontractors on new product launches to meet target date.
  • Develop an Engineering network to support project requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE+

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in product manufacturing.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work with Engineers, Designers, Drafters, and Technicians
  • Experience with Electronical Products is highly desirable.
  • MRP II, Kanban, ISO 9000, Six-Sigma or similar program, and Kaizen training and experience are highly desired.
  • Experience within a highly technical production environment is highly desirable.

Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Panel Builds/Box Builds – Looking for a candidate that enjoys the challenge of being exposed to many different types of electro-mechanical assemblies including control panels, industrial enclosure builds, and small box wired assemblies. Candidate is a motivated self-starter who can think outside the box.

Preferred Skill Set:

  • Solid skills in all aspects of wiring, crimping, wire harnessing, and layout of multi-component systems.
  • Experience with PC Board assembly
  • Knowledge and proficiency with hand tools
  • Hand soldering skills for small PCB based assemblies.
  • Ability to understand basic schematics and assembly documentation including prints, drawings, bills of material, work order travelers, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of effective use of measurement tools.
  • Understand basic ESD (electro-static discharge) handling requirements.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment to get projects accomplished and pride in a job well done.
  • Experience from automotive/aerospace/medical device industries in the manufacture of mechanical assemblies is a plus.
  • Experience with basic machining equipment is a plus.
  • IPC 610/620/JSTD or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  • Understanding of ISO/AS9100 processes and the development of work instructions in a Lean Manufacturing context is desirable.

CNC Machinist

Focus is to own assembly activity in order to accomplish a specific task or build a specific product. Key “go to” person for Machine Shop needs, consistent building techniques and high-quality standards and ideally expanded knowledge of ISO processes and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Complete projects and other tasks as assigned with appropriate priority and high response time with direction as needed.
  • Implement machining needs via CNC, collaborating with manufacturing engineering team.
  • Independently successfully performs troubleshooting of products using various hand and power tools.

Hole punch, green lee punches, hole saw, drill press, metal sheers.

  • Performs electro-mechanical validation and verification of products with in-process inspection; ability to identify exceptions, quality issues and inconsistencies.
  • Responsible for support and ultimately completing assigned jobs by the scheduled due dates.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times; maintain equipment and shop area.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Point person for small projects and specific project machining requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED, additional education is a plus and strong math skills is highly preferred.
  • Advance understanding of machining, automated and manual, and layout of multi-component systems highly preferred
  • Accurate and consistent ability to use measurement tools (calipers, scales, rulers) required
  • Works well with others in a team environment to get projects accomplished required.
  • Focus on efficient but high-quality work is required.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations of a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft applications a plus.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as quantities and time parameters.
  • Machine shop background highly desirable.
  • Master cam and CNC programming a plus.

Quality Control/Test Associate

Testing to Customer Spec and Standard 

ISO 9001 Document Control

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Interprets and executes testing procedures per work order requirements.
  • Ensures test and data transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Inspects incoming material, work-in-process products, and finished products for conformance to drawings and specifications.
  • Receives work orders for testing and precision assembly operations.
  • Resolves, with management support, operational issues that may compromise achievement of schedule, cost, quality or safety objectives.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and acceptance test procedures desirable.
  • Knowledge of connectors, electro-mechanical products and related manufacturing processes a plus.
  • Familiarity with DMM (Digital Multi Meters) desirable 
  • Visual and mechanical Inspection methods.
  • Performance of first inspection /test and date recording.
  • Must follow and enforce in- house quality procedures, policies and practices.
  • Certification of IPC610/ IPC620/J-STD-001 desirable.
  • ISO 9001 document control
  • Write and edit documentation for procedures and work instructions. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma.
  • 2-year trade school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years within a production environment with training in audit, inspection, and JSTD/IPC standards highly desirable. 
  • Previous experience with electro-mechanical assembly highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Access and Excel highly preferred. 
  • MRP II and Kanban training and experience are highly desirable.
  • Quality training in a LEAN, Kaizen, ISO-2015, Six-Sigma or similar program is highly preferred.

Staff Accountant

Reports to the Controller

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure all accounting activities conform with GAAP and company policy.
  • Ability to drive financial accountability and enforce policies and procedures. 
  • AP/AR processing, payment applications and reconciliations
  • Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments. 
  • Assist with month end and year end close process including preparation of journal entries as required.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Daily Labor ticket entry into corporate accounting software with weekly reconciliation to reports for accurate payroll processing.
  • Manage the administration of benefits in collaboration with HR, confirm coverage and vendor billings align. 
  • Cross Training into accounts payable by entering accounts payable invoices and investigating discrepancies.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting desirable or equivalent experience 
  • 2 – 5 years of accounting experience desirable
  • Experience in manufacturing cost inventory accounting preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Teams and Access)
  • ERP system and QuickBooks experience highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a sense of urgency and have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently.
