Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Panel Builds/Box Builds – Looking for a candidate that enjoys the challenge of being exposed to many different types of electro-mechanical assemblies including control panels, industrial enclosure builds, and small box wired assemblies. Candidate is a motivated self-starter who can think outside of the box and use common sense to make good decisions.

Preferred Skill Set:

  • Must have solid skills in in all aspects of wiring, crimping, wire harnessing, and layout of multi-component systems.
  • Has knowledge and proficiency with hand tools (crimpers/strippers etc.)
  • Should have hand soldering skills for small PCB based assemblies.
  • Has the ability to understand basic schematics and assembly documentation including blueprints, drawings, bills of material, work order travelers, and work instructions.
  • Ability to use measurement tools effectively (calipers, scales, rulers).
  • Understanding of basic ESD (electro-static discharge) handling requirements.
  • Works well with others in a team environment to get projects accomplished.
  • Focus on efficient but high quality work is a must.
  • Experience from automotive/aerospace/medical device industries in the manufacture of mechanical assemblies is a plus.
  • Experience with basic machining equipment is preferred.  Candidates that have this experience should know safety guidelines/storage and retrieval of tooling, ability to layout enclosures from drawings, have solid measurement skills, setup and breakdown of punch presses, Bridgeport Milling machines, jet lathe, horizontal and vertical band saws, jigsaws, media blasters and drill presses.  CNC programming skills operating and programming skills are a plus.
  • IPC 610/620/JSTD or equivalent certifications are preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO/AS9100 processes and the development of work instructions in a Lean Manufacturing context is desirable.

This is a full time position.  Work hours are 7AM-3:30PM M-F.

Electronics Assembler

Electronics/Cable Assembly – Looking for a candidate that enjoys the challenge of being exposed to many different types of PCB/cable assembly work. Candidate is a motivated self-starter who can think outside of the box and use common sense to make good decisions.

Required Skills:

  • Must have basic PCB assembly skills including: – soldering, masking, touchup, and rework of Thru-hole PCB boards.
  • Candidates with PCB experience should have strong soldering skills and know how to handle printed circuit boards, use different types of solder while preventing cross contamination of lead/lead free solder, knowledge identifying polarity of components, understand techniques for prepping components and cleaning boards, use of wrist straps and other devices used to prevent ESD.  Ability to solder surface mount components and use wave solder equipment is a plus.
  • Understanding of basic ESD (electro-static discharge) handling requirements.
  • Experience building wire harnesses/cable assemblies. Has knowledge and proficiency with hand tools (crimpers/strippers etc.)
  • Familiar with using a microscope and soldering tools to complete fine pitch component work.
  • Has the ability to read schematics and assembly documentation.
  • Understands in-process inspection of production work and can work in team oriented environment with co-workers.
  • Experience Setting up and Operating SMT component assembly and soldering equipment is desirable.
  • IPC 610 or J-STD certifications preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO/AS9100 processes and the development of work instructions in a Lean Manufacturing context is desirable.

This is a full time position.  Work hours are from 7AM-3:30PM M-F.

Position Description: 

EFE Labs is committed to gaining market share in the Tri-State region.  To facilitate this objective, the organization is expanding its engineering capabilities and capacity.  EFE seeks a highly-motivated, hands-on Electrical/Controls Engineer with both hardware and software skills to support capital equipment and product design, as well as additional manufacturing projects.

Design projects will require customer contact to develop specifications.  The engineer will utilize the resulting specifications to develop design solutions, and the proposed solutions will be reviewed and approved by the customer.

The Engineer will also produce the required design documentation to support the manufacturing process, including schematics, control system software, Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, etc..  The successful candidate may provide installation support and be responsible for meeting schedules and cost targets.

Our customers also frequently require value engineering on their existing designs.  In these cases, the engineer will review customer-provided documentation and provide technical analysis, detailed cost estimates, and recommendations based on general assignment requests.

Applicant Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering field from an accredited college or university
  • Electrical design capabilities and experience
  • In depth knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI design, configuration and specification of equipment
  • Proficiency in CAD
  • Labview (or equivalent) Programming experience
  • Ability to design electronic assemblies
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications

In addition, the Manufacturing Engineer must work with management to evaluate cost improvement projects, manufacturing techniques, automation and outsourcing opportunities.

Applicant Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering field from an accredited college or university
  • Maintain proper documentation of all equipment, tooling and fixtures.
  • Experienced in reduction of setup cost through lean techniques
  •  Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and/or Rapid Prototyping
  • Implementing tooling and equipment improvements
  • Labview Programming experience is a plus
  • Experience in data collection, problem solving, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and software problems
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications

Position Description:

EFE Labs is committed to gaining market share in the Tri-State Region.  To facilitate this objective the organization is expanding its testing capabilities and capacity.  Hence, the organization is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, well-balanced, flexible electrical test engineer to work on a host of projects that vary greatly in size and scope.  No two projects are the same and you will always be challenged to learn new concepts, meet new customers and learn their unique issues and practices.  Additionally, this is a very hands-on position that will require the engineer to test, potentially build, debug and support the project through its entirety.

The main role of the test engineer at EFE is to lead the support of and perform equipment and product testing.  The subject candidate will be responsible for the development and advancement of the quality systems.    Quality tools including root cause analysis, ISO 9001:2008 knowledge, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis will be utilized.   The subject test engineer will be responsible for establishing and monitoring departmental budget requirements.

Candidate should be familiar with some or all of the following equipment: Digital Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, programmable power supplies, DMM HiPot Test Equipment, Cable continuity test equipment, Insulation Test Equipment, Environmental test equipment, Network/spectrum analyzers.

Applicant Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS degree from a college or university in an appropriate engineering field (or equivalent)
  • Must have software and electrical test capabilities with 5 years of experience minimum
  • Must be familiar IPC standards for wiring and soldering
  • Should be familiar with UL wiring practices
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Proficient in CAD Software (Schematics, PCB Layout and the fabrication process)
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications
  • Should be able to function independently in a self-directed, goal-oriented environment
  • Very organized with excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with all MS office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
  • Knowledge of PLC, LabView, C, C++, Visual Basic or other programming languages a plus
